Neurodivergence Therapy

Virtual Neurodivergence Therapy in Nova Scotia for ADHD and Autistic children, teens, and adults that honours individual strengths and lived experience while prioritizing autonomy, identity, and meaningful inclusion.

Neurodivergence Therapy

Neurodivergent therapy should not be about teaching people to hide who they are.

At Access Therapy Nova Scotia, particularly committed to supporting neurodivergent children, teens and adults from a social justice-informed, neurodiverse-affirming approach that honours individual strengths and lived experience while prioritizing autonomy, identity, and meaningful inclusion.

Our approach is affirming, collaborative, and grounded in respect for individual differences. We work from the understanding that neurodivergence is not something that needs to be “fixed.”

Instead, therapy can support self-understanding, emotional well-being, nervous system regulation, self-advocacy, and navigating environments that are not always designed with neurodivergent needs in mind.

We support neurodivergent children, teens, adults, and families, including individuals who identify as Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, highly sensitive, or otherwise neurodivergent.
Neurodivergence Therapy May Support:
  • Exploring ADHD, Autism, or neurodivergent identity
  • Processing a new or late diagnosis

  • Nervous system regulation
  • Building interoceptive awareness
  • Navigating masking and people-pleasing patterns
  • Managing anxiety, OCD, or chronic stress

Therapy is tailored collaboratively to each person’s goals, sensory needs, communication preferences, and lived experiences. Session pacing and structure can also be adjusted to support individual needs.

Therapy through a neurodiversity-affirming lens supports greater self-understanding, emotional safety, and strategies that genuinely fit your life, rather than expecting you to constantly adapt yourself to environments that may not fit you.
